The co-initiators of MEPU
I am a Palestinian born in Mukeible in 1965 and currently living in East Jerusalem. The most meaningful mark I left in the field of Peace education, was as co-founder, with my Jewish Israeli partner, of the Center for Jewish-Arab Education in Israel (‘Hand in Hand’).
I was born in Haifa, Israel, in 1960. In the last 14 years I have been involved, in growing capacity and passion, in various Peace building grass roots efforts and organizations, always in partnership with Palestinians.
The Center began with two bilingual, multicultural schools and has grown to 8 schools all over the country, with over 900 students - Arab and Jewish, Muslim, Arab and Christian - in which a unique and evolving, bilingual curriculum was developed to answer the needs of two peoples living and learning together, and educate for a culture of Peace and human connection.
I co-managed an Israeli-Palestinian NGO facilitating encounters and partnership projects, served as a Peace building freelance consultant, volunteer in Peace organizations, and most important and challenging for me - I try to live a life of Peace.
The vision of establishing a Palestinian-Israeli International Peace University was born in May 2016.
We invite you to partner with us in promoting the vision of the
Middle East Peace University and turning it into a reality.
